NZ2383 at The RNZAF Museum, Christchurch, New Zealand

RF597/NZ2355/ZK-BCU History

Received in 1948, the aircraft was sold by Government Stores Board tender in 1953 to Aircraft Supplies (NZ) Ltd., and registered ZK-BCU (one of 6, ZK-BCT - ZK-BCY) for export to the USA. The company went into receivership and all registrations were cancelled on 9th May 1957.

NZ2383 is basically a collection of parts found on a farm and a dump by Malcolm McDonald who originally intended to restore the aircraft. The project was abandoned and the parts eventually found their way to the Museum.
